Blog

  • We are living the cyberpunk future, we just don’t realize it

I was riding my self propelled sidewalk surfing apparatus listening to digitally synthesized sonic waveforms through my cranial vibration based headphones, I picked up a chilled neurological stimulation and productivity enhancing elixir to ensure efficient and effective work at my corpo job. Typical day in the life of 2025

  • Your life would be very empty if you had nothing to regret

…I live a very full life according to this quote 😂

  • More numbness today

Clouds were pretty neat on my run today, however the numbness in my foot returned (as far as I know, not related to my meralgia paresthetica). The plan was 4 miles, but I only made 3.5, however the first 2 miles were below 8 minute pace which is great considering I haven’t been in my routine for a while! I think I may have pushed it too hard on the third mile though, because my leg seems to have gotten worse (I think, it’s always hard to tell). Yoga classes may be in my future to help keep the nerve and muscles stretching and gliding. I’d like to figure out exactly why this left foot keeps going numb, might have to really study nerve anatomy. I thought it was from my clothes, but today rules that out. Shoes seem not too tight, it’s a weird one.

  • First Post!

Setting up my own blog has been in the back of my mind for a few years, as I don’t like being on social media platforms. Being spoon-fed by my personally tuned algorithm a daily dose of dopamine to keep me producing data points for targeted advertising – isn’t my cup of tea. This isn’t to shame people using it though. Keeping up to date with family and friends, following creators and artists you enjoy, etc. are all awesome aspects, and something I miss. (Remember when social media was more about being a social space than consuming media?)

Since getting this blog up and running completely free and self hosted(a topic I may make its own post about), I have really started to ponder what exactly I would use this blog for. I haven’t been great at taking pictures or video the last few years, and I’m realizing that I far too often think about the future, rather than exist in the present. Consequently, I struggle to remember the past, as I’m only halfway in the present moment. I’m hoping that by using this blog, it will motivate me to live more in the moment, and write about those moments later.

Another reason I’m wanting to use this blog, is for my reference (or whoever may be interested) to know what I was up to. I wonder what my grandparents were doing when they were my age, and I really enjoy seeing old film videos of them – getting a glimpse into that different time. If they had a blog of their day to day life, I would totally browse it! So maybe in the future, there will be someone who is wondering what I was up to 8/10/2025 😄.

It will also be a place I can organize thoughts and ideas, post projects, and be able to compare/reference things over time about specific topics.

So to kick off this blog, this is what I did today!

I slept in (heck yeah) and went to my favorite breakfast spot – Luciles.

I also went to Brewing Market (I felt like spoiling myself today I guess!)to fix some backend issues with the blog, and finish setting it up and learning about its functions and features.

I went on on a run, which started out with perfect weather, but on the last half mile of the 3.5 mile run, it turned from rain, to hail, to HAIL. The first half of the run today I was struggling to get my muscles warmed up, and my lungs to open up. After about 2 miles in and everything started feeling great though! I’ve been recovering from a nerve injury that caused Meralgia paraesthetica 4 weeks ago, making running and other exercises difficult/uncomfortable. However, the last two days I finally feel like I’m on the up!

Today I ran an 8:24 pace, and my best run was a 7:08 for 3, so I’ve got some catching up to do now that I’m nearing the end of the recovery from this nerve issue!

I’m hoping to set up a way to get posts of details on activities I track in Garmin Connect, to automatically post to the blog. (yet another project to add to the list 😂)
